Meet The Misfits

Social Anxiety

Fernie

“I should’ve stayed home.”

Fernie is the plant who RSVP’d “yes” to the party and immediately regretted it. He practices small talk in the mirror and still says “you too” when the barista says “enjoy your drink.” Group chats are minefields and phone calls feel like boss battles. But behind the anxious texts and overuse of “lol,” he’s gentle, loyal, and incredibly thoughtful — just never tell him he’s your favorite, he’ll panic.

Burnt-Out Happiness

Sunny

“I’m fine! (Definitely not fine).”

Sunny grew up being “the positive one” and never quite got out of that role. She runs the group chat, plans the hangouts, and always says “let me know if you need anything” — and means it. She’s the sunniest burnout you’ve ever met: glowy on the outside, gently fraying on the inside. Her happy face is so practiced she sometimes forgets it’s okay not to wear it. She’ll say she’s thriving, even as her eye twitches. But deep down, she just wants someone else to host brunch.

Angry Spite

Thistle

“It’s not you. Okay, it is you."

Thistle grew up surrounded by soft flowers and decided early on that he’d rather be the problem. He delivers roasts like compliments and insists he “tells it like it is” (translation: he needs a nap). Has a spiky shell with a gooey, affectionate core but would rather eat a cactus than admit it. He’ll argue just to keep his emotional distance, then secretly knit you a scarf when you’re going through it. He’s not mean — just emotionally exfoliating.

Exhausted Contentness

Wilt

“Sweet...but spent.”

Wilt used to be the flower you’d vent to at 2 a.m., the one who always showed up with snacks and soft affirmations. But pouring from an empty pot takes its toll.

These days, she’s learning to sit in stillness. To rest. To breathe between blooms.

She’s not as energetic as she once was, but don’t mistake her wilted petals, they are a metaphor for experience, not weakness.

Overthinker

Root

“It’s all connected... probably.”

Root once read a single psychology article and has been dispensing unsolicited advice ever since. Speaks in metaphors, drinks tea like it’s a spiritual practice, and low-key thinks he’s your emotional guru. But don’t be fooled by his calm exterior — he replays conversations from 2016 and constantly wonders if you’re mad at him. Root is the friend who says “I’m here if you need me” and actually means it… while wondering if he said it too many times.

Tearful Woe

Petal

“Honestly, I don’t even know.”

Petal bloomed a little too early and never really stopped feeling everything a little too deeply. She once teared up over a paper towel commercial and has never emotionally recovered from the ending of Finding Nemo. Petal keeps a Notes app list of things she might have said wrong, and rereads it nightly for sport. Despite it all, she’s the one who remembers everyone’s birthdays, checks in “just in case,” and gives the best hugs — even if she’s convinced you secretly hate her.

Perpetually Chill

SECRET - Mushie

“Just vibin’, no stressin.”

Mushie wandered in from a forest drum circle and never really left. He speaks in riddles that somehow make perfect sense after a nap. With a soul older than time and a heart softer than moss, Mushie believes in inner peace, funky beats, and microdosing his expectations of others. He’ll lend you a crystal, a listening ear, or a conspiracy theory — whatever heals you first.

His pot smells faintly like incense. No one knows why.
